Party
Time on the Farm!
And
a wonderful time was had by all...

Guests
enjoy a bountiful feast
at the Stop I-3 Picnic. |
The
Stop I-3 Picnic held on October 27, 2007 on the
Ezzard Farms behind the Tiger Mountain Vineyards
combined good food, good music, and good friends
to make an enjoyable Saturday. Perfect October
weather and the hint of fall color greeted attendees
as they climbed the hill to party beneath the
oak trees. Hank Bellew and the Carmel Ridge Band
and guests played great music, the silent auction
provided real bargains, and the food from the
various vendors was excellent.

We
were particularly pleased that Sandy Lyndon sang
her lovely composition that reminds us all of
why we are fighting this unneeded, unwanted,
environmentally and economically disastrous highway.
Many enjoyed the tour of the Clyde Arrendale
Pleasants English home, and the opportunity to
see a bit of the history of this special place.

The
Board of Directors wishes to thank each of you
who attended as well as all who helped in so
many ways to make the party a success. We estimate
125 to 150 people attended and over $1500 was
raised to help with expenses for Stop I-3. If
you were unable to attend, we invite you to add
your donation. As Stop I-3 expands its mission
to promote sustainable transportation practices,
while protecting the unique heritage and environment
of the Southern Appalachians, we need help from
all of you.
